Jenny Greene

Jenny Greene is Ireland’s favourite DJ. She was there right at the beginning of the scene, landing a slot on Pulse FM at 15 years old before moving onto FM104’s breakfast show, for which her parents allowed her to leave school. Jenny never looked back, earning her club DJ stripes during the height of the mid 90s rave culture boom at legendary clubs like the Temple Theatre in Dublin. In 2003, she earned herself a place in The Guinness Book Of Records when she broke The World Record For The Longest DJ Set playing continuously for 75 hours. Jenny has commandeered RTÉ 2FM’s Saturday nights for her hugely popular dance show ‘Electric Disco’ for some 12 years now and also hosts The Greene Room on the same station every night from Sunday to Thursday.

In 2016 someone had the great idea of putting Jenny together with the RTE Concert Orchestra to play the Friday night of Electric Picnic, packing the Rankin’s Wood tent to capacity with their set of 90s club classics with live vocals. It was the highlight of the whole festival and the start of a journey which saw them selling out the 3Arena, Marquee in Cork and Iveagh Gardens in Dublin multiple times and headline festival appearances all over the country right up to the present day. With her busy RTE work schedule, Jenny’s DJ appearances around the country are becoming more selective, so we are delighted that Jenny will be making a rare Mayo appearance at Far West Fest on Friday, 18 August.
